Polar Bear started in Bengaluru in 2008 with a simple thought. What if ice cream could be more than just a scoop?
That thought became a passion for creating indulgent, handcrafted sundaes. Today, Polar Bear is India’s largest ice cream sundae chain, serving over a million customers every month across 200+ outlets in 40+ cities.
Founded by ice cream industry veteran Kishore Rai, Polar Bear was built on the belief that sundaes deserved to be more than an afterthought. We wanted to create an experience around them.
Over the years, we have looked to ice cream cultures from around the world for inspiration while creating flavours that feel distinctly our own. Our parlours are designed to be warm, inviting spaces where great sundaes and good experiences come together.
Our menu features some of the most loved sundaes in India. The iconic DBC (Death By Chocolate), Chocozilla, Dry Fruit Special and Tres Leches Sundaes are among the creations that have become synonymous with Polar Bear.
All our products are 100% vegetarian, and our ice creams are dairy-based.
Today, Polar Bear operates through a mix of company-owned and franchise-owned outlets. Behind every parlour is a strong ecosystem of training, technology, ERP, marketing, operations and R&D that helps us deliver a consistent experience across the country.

Expansion beyond Bengaluru - now operating 20+ stores - begins, with a highway outlet in Kunigal.
Polar Bear 2.0 is launched - with a new logo, colours, store design, menu and more.
We opened our 100th outlet in HSR layout, Bengaluru. Now also available in Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune.
With our 1st outlet in Kerala opening in Kozhikode in March 2026 - Polar Bear is now available across 6 states.

Polar Bear, the Ice Cream Sundae Zone, began its journey in the year 2008, with the first-ever parlour set up at ITPL in Bangalore.
When we stepped into the market, the ice-cream industry in India was booming. We spent a lot of time on research and trying to understand the Indian audience. We created new and existing flavours, gave a makeover to the age-old sundae recipes, and made magic that appealed to the varied tastes of the diverse Indian customer. Our ice creams are 100% dairy and 100% veg, and are made with the best ingredients, in the best facility, with utmost hygiene and lots of love.
Polar Bear has always taken great pride in its unlimited passion for ice cream and ice cream sundaes. A unique blend of the good-old and many-a-new, the brand has carved an identity for itself.
