Behind the popular brand 'Polar Bear' is the vision of the dynamic entrepreneur, Kishore Rai with over 25 years of experience in the ice cream sector. Starting his career in 1994 under the market leader of the time, Kwality ice cream, in the Sales and Operations field, Kishore not only learnt the ropes of the business but also climbed the ladder and took on higher responsibilities. Post the integration as Kwality Walls from HUL, he continued his learning and through his various interactions with the leaders, he identified the emerging opportunity in the market for high-quality value offerings in the field of ice cream parlours. A keen observer of emerging trends, he saw this as a great opportunity. Using Sundaes as the hook to reel in the emerging segment of urban, young smart and savvy customers, he conceptualized Polar Bear with a vision to create the best in class parlour experience for the customers. From humble beginnings in 2008 with the setting up of the first parlour in Bangalore, today the brand operates across 80 locations in Bangalore and its neighbouring areas and is already the market leader in this segment by far. Relentless in his pursuit to grow the family of Polar Bear parlours, with a continuous focus on innovation of product and service, and ensuring a Polar Bear is in reach of every customer, he actively drives the strategy and execution of the brand.

A Hotel Administration & Hospitality Management graduate from IHM Bangalore, Mr Prashant Prakash is the General Manger Operations at Polar Bear. Passionate, purpose-led business leader with 15+ years of proven brand and commercial track record developed at McDonald's, Au Bon Pain, California Burrito to name a few. Equipped with Masters in Business Administration in Marketing and Operations from Symbiosis, Pune, Prashant has held senior commercial, marketing and operations role across both FMCG and retail.
K S Narayanan
Mr KS Narayanan (KS) has an overall Management experience of 30+ years in India & Spain with leading corporates like HUL, McCain Foods, Pan India Food Solutions & VKL Seasonings. His experience spans across B2C, B2B, Hospitality, Retail, Customer & Business Development, Sales & Marketing in the Food & Beverage Industry. In this period, he has handled Categories in the F&B Industry covering - Beverages, Edible Oil, Dairy, Ice Creams, Frozen Foods, Culinary products, Seasonings & Flavours, Restaurants, Parlours & Cafés. He is a member of the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), gives guest lectures at leading colleges and is a regular contributor on the F&B industry in various Industry forums/magazines. KS's association with Kishore goes back to the early days in the Ice Cream business at HUL where they worked closely in building the Kwality Walls brand. This was a tremendous period of learning for all individuals, particularly in building new businesses in the Indian market. KS is currently on board as an advisor to guide and mentor the team at Polar Bear enabling it to scale new heights.
